Craig Chalmers is 27 years old and originally from Edinburgh. Craig is known to
millions from his success on the hugely popular BBC Saturday night series "ANY
DREAM WILL DO" which searched the nation to find a "JOSEPH" to play the lead in
the West End musical "JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT" Craig
fought off tens of thousands of hopefuls to make it into the t.v final ,
eventually finishing up in fifth place.
Following
his success on the show Craig did enough to impress theatre impresario
(and Everton Football Club owner and chairman!) BILL KENWRIGHT.
Bill is the most successful independent theatre producer and
director in the country, with a host of West End and touring shows on
his credits, and was also one of the panel of judges on ANY
DREAM WILL DO. Bill seen enough potential in Craig to believe
he was in fact, a "Joseph" and offered Craig that very part on
the UK NATIONAL TOUR!!!. So Craig got to fulfil his dream after
all and has been playing the part of "Joseph" on the U.K tour
since August 2007, and after rave reviews and playing to packed
theatres across the country, Craig has agreed to extend his contract on
to AUGUST 2009!
Following
the success of his t.v appearances, Craig got offered an album deal
with BKL records and was delighted to record his debut album "
DREAM ON". This album was recorded with a little help from some
of Craig's fellow contestants from "Any Dream Will Do" and the album
celebrated its launch with a one night only Sunday
evening performance at the prestigious LONDON PALLADIUM.
The album then rocketed into the charts in March 2008, and to this day
still proves a popular seller at the theatres in which Craig performs
as "Joseph" all round the U.K
Craig's second album sees him team up with fellow finalist ANTONY HANSEN (who plays the lead role of "PHAROAH" alongside Craig on tour). Craig and Antony are great friends and are delighted at the prospect of releasing their album of duet and solo songs. (Release date tbc).
